하나님의 자녀로 살아가면서 바뀌어진 나의 자리 – 아들, 학생, 회사원, 아버지 그리고 목사 – 가 있었다. 그러한 많은 순간에도 바뀌어지지 않은 것은 나 자신이 하나님의 사람이라는 사실과 교회로서 이 땅에 하나님과 함께 살아가고 있다는 사실이었다. 이것이 나의 영원한 정체성이다.

Today I stand on the threshold
the place where the path of the world ends
and the house of God begins.
Here, a new journey of faith opens before me,
and I take a moment to steady my heart.
I make a commitment to build the church.
As stones are placed one upon another,
I will lay God’s Word as my foundation,
hold prayer as my lifeline,
and help form a community where each person comes alive.
The threshold asks me,
“Where are you going? For what are you giving your life?”
And I answer:
I choose to give my time, my heart, and my life to build the body of Christ.
Standing on this threshold,
I make this promise before God:
- To see the church not
through my desires, but through God’s heart. - To value the sacred work of raising people.
- To never cease proclaiming the gospel.
- To be a pillar strengthened by the Word and prayer.
- To share in the church’s burdens and rejoice in its victories.
One step, then another.
May my life become a small stone
in the church God Himself is building.
“Lord, use me.
Let this commitment made on the threshold
grow into a church that fulfills Your will.”
